The Health & Safety of the community is our top priority as we work to bring everyone back together safely. We’re taking our responsibility as event producers seriously and have implemented extensive sanitization protocols at the conference.
It is up to each of us individually to follow those protocols and help protect the health of everyone in our community.
Here's what we're going to keep you safe at Summit.
CDC and WHO recommend that both vaccinated and non-vaccinated people wear masks in public setting to limit the spread of coronavirus. We are leaning heavily into this recommendation.
Masks will be available to all attendees at check-in and throughout the convention center.
Masks are strongly encouraged for everyone throughout the convention center, and required for non-vaccinated attendees. However, everyone will be required to wear masks inside session rooms, except speakers.
Stringent sanitization protocols are one of the most effective means available of keeping our community safe and healthy. So we are going above and beyond to ensure that we keep all spaces sanitized, and each participant has access to do the same.
All attendees will receive personal hand sanitizer and phone sanitizer at check in.
Sanitizer stations will be available throughout the convention center.
Restrooms will be staffed with attendees and frequently cleaned.
Convention center staff clean all high traffic and high touch areas throughout the day, including elevator buttons, escalator railings, door handles, etc.
Each meeting room will be thoroughly sanitized between sessions and at the end of each day. (See below for more details.)
We are hiring additional staff to clean high traffic areas like UG Hubs, Tech Medic stations and the Expo Hall.
We have two exhibition halls for this year's event. The UG Hubs, Tech Medic Stations, sponsors booths and Community Theater will be spaced out well to ensure plenty of room for social distancing and personal comfort levels.
“Free Zones” will be set throughout the floor to allow for users and sponsors to pop in/out of aisles as needed
Booth aisles will be wider
Designated Entrance & Exit doors to control traffic flow
Several staff on hand for wipe/down, disinfectant of high touch areas
Box lunch areas (no buffets) spread out throughout the expo
Signage throughout the area to promote safety and cleanliness
Additional space in the Community Theater
Sessions & Breakouts
Rest assured that we'll go to extra lengths to ensure that every meeting rooms is cleaned and sanitized throughout the day. Here's what you can expect in session rooms:
Breakout sessions will have limited seating capacity. Chairs will be placed to ensure adequate social distancing.
Attendees will be required to wear masks in sessions. This is to help protect everyone when they are in smaller or enclosed spaces.
Every breakout room will have a staff member dedicated to wipe down all chairs, tables and podiums after each session.
Convention center staff will sanitize all equipment, tables, chairs and podium in every meeting room with electrostatic spray at the end of each day.
Trash will be emptied in between sessions, during lunch breaks and at the end of each day.
Extra sanitization products will be available in every meeting room for attendees who wish to take extra sanitization steps.
Permanent seating in keynotes will be limited to every other seat. Keynotes will be streamed on our website so you can watch from your room or select breakout rooms in the venue.
Meals & Receptions
Lunch and breakfast will be boxed so that everyone can easily grab their food and head off to an open space. Everyone will be able to get outside of the venue and their hotels for their own dinner plans. Receptions will be in large spaces with plenty of room for social distancing.
If you are not feeling well, please stay home. If you have already arrived in Houston and are feeling ill, please do not come to the convention center. Follow the recommended protocols for self-isolation and seek testing in the local area.
TESTING FACILITIES NEAR THE CONVENTION CENTER
There are numerous options near the convention center for rapid results testing. It is easy to schedule an appointment online through any of these websites, should you fall ill or be considered that you’ve been exposed to the covid-19 virus.
This is a dynamic process intended to keep the community, vendors, guests and our staff’s health at top of mind. We’ll adjust if needed and communicate changes clearly and quickly so you can stay in the know.
Starting 90 days before the event, we’ll share weekly updates on travel, programming, lodging and COVID-19 safety protocols. All financial commitments to Summit North America include a 100% money-back guarantee should the event be cancelled due to COVID-19.
With data as our guide and the community by our side, we know that together we can do this.
